Itinerary
Kandy - 2 Nights
Day 01
Arrive at Colombo International Airport. Here, you will be met by a designated chauffer guide from Lakpura. After the formalities at the airport you will be escorted to your air-conditioned vehicle and proceed to Kegalle En Route visit Millennium Elephant Foundation at Pinnawala. (Travel Time: 2 to 2 ½ hrs)
Millennium Elephant Foundation
The Millennium Elephant Foundation (MEF) is a family run non-government organization (NGO) dedicated to improving the welfare of domestic elephants throughout Sri Lanka. The Foundation provide and fund the care, medical treatments, food, mahout salaries, the running costs of the charity as well as having an on call Mobile Veterinary Unit which travels around the country treating sick elephants in need. The Elephant Walk Experience is another alternative to elephant riding for tourists, which is an ethical, up close and personal experience for tourists.
On completion of the visit, check-in to the hotel and relax.
Day 02
After breakfast at the hotel, hike Bible Rock
The Bible Rock of Sri Lanka, locally named “Bathelegala” is a somber square sentinel that can be seen in the distant mountainous horizon, looming over other rocks and mountains, on the way up or down the Kadugannawa Pass along the Kandy Road. The 360-degree view from atop the rock is a photographer’s dream. The spectacular view of Asupini Ella, Kadugannawa Pass & Ura Kande, and the surrounding mountains and forests are simply put, breathtaking. On top of being one of the most scenic mountain tops, the biodiversity around Bible Rock ensures that hikers and bird lovers especially get to spot bird species.
On completion of the visit, return to the hotel and relax

Elkaduwa - 3 Nights
Day 03
After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Elkaduwa (Travel Time: 2 to 2 ½ hrs) En route visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden and Temple of the Tooth Relic.
Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya
which were formed in the early 19th century. Walk through the vast area containing over 4000 species of plants. Enjoy the learning more about the orchids, spices and medicinal plants. Wander down avenues shaded by large and rare trees, or bordered by flowering plants. Enjoy seeing the cannonball tree, walking over the wobbly suspension bridge and through the short hedge mazes or even climbing the twisty trees that make wonderful jungle gyms.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
The Temple of the Tooth Relic a UNESCO World Heritage Site which was built in the 16th century as the place of veneration and protection for Lord Buddha’s sacred tooth. Walk through the beautifully embellished passageways and elaborately painted halls, done in red, cream and black. Lounge against delicately carved pillars and get amazed by the beautiful golden statues. Get an unforgettable experience of history and art.
On Completion proceed to Elkaduwa and Check into the Hotel
Day 04 & 05
During your time at Elkaduwa do a day excursion at Sembuwatta Lake
Sembuwatta Lake is a tourist attraction situated at Elkaduwa in the Matale District of Sri Lanka, adjacent to the Campbell’s Lane Forest Reserve.A paradise like the location which is a lake of natural spring water serves as one of the major attractions of the hill country. It is set amongst the sprawling tea gardens and reflects the environment at its most magnificent. Towering from the lake is the beautiful green mountains with a thick pines forest where you can take time to climb up.

Gal Oya - 2 Nights
Day 06
After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Gal Oya. (Travel Time: 2 ½ to 3 hrs)

Discover an ancient land untouched by time; a haven of serenity in which to reconnect with the rhythms of the earth. Immerse yourself in nature. Soak yourself in the local culture. Explore the rich wildlife of Gal Oya, one of Sri Lanka’s most remote and least visited wilderness areas.
Later in the Evening visit the Veddah Village.
Gal Oya Lodge neighbours one of the last remaining communities of the Veddha – the forest-dwelling, indigenous people of Sri Lanka. We can invite the village Chief to take you on a walk through the jungles of his ancestors. Discover and learn about local nature as he brings the forest alive, explaining his tribe’s use of medicinal plants, ancient hunting grounds and cave dwellings. It’s a fascinating insight into how the hunter-gatherers lived in the jungles of Gal Oya.
After visiting the Veddah Village, proceed back to Gal Oya, (Travel Time: 1 to 1 ½ hrs)
Day 07
Wake up before the crack of dawn, at around five am. Sip a quick tea / coffee and embark on an early morning safari in Gal Oya National Park.
Safari at Gal Oya National Park
Gal Oya National Park is one of Sri Lanka’s undiscovered natural treasures. Within the park exist herds of elephants, wild boar, four species of deer, jackals, sloth bears, marsh mugger crocodiles and an array of rare exotic birds. We offer a jeep safari into the forgotten Nilgala section of the park, once protected by ancient royalty for the abundant medicinal plants and endemic birdlife in this unique ecosystem. Our more intrepid guests can couple the drive with a safari on foot! Our hike through the park with our expert naturalist, offers a chance to explore hidden corners of the park.
later in the evening, go on a Boat Safari on Sri Lanka’s largest lake.
Boat Safari on Senanayake Lake
Enjoy the only experience in Sri Lanka that allows you to spot wildlife from the water. It’s a unique way to immerse yourself in the animals’ habitats. With a little luck, you could spot elephants swimming between islands or bathing at the lake’s edge. A 2-3 hour safari by boat, and a scenic 40-minute drive from the lodge to the lake is perfect to explore the national park and surrounding villages.

Packing Essentials
When packing for Sri Lanka, you only need to remember that this is a tropical country. Sunny weather & warm water. Hence, packing thin cotton clothing is essential. However, if your stay includes places like Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Ella, we recommend that you pack a few sweaters just in case. You must not forget the following:
- Effective mosquito repellent.
- A good sunscreen.
- (Ladies) Tampons – Nearly impossible to find outside Colombo.
- Universal power adapter.
